Content Decay Analyzer

About Content Decay Analyzer

Old pages quietly lose rankings, clicks and traffic as competitors publish fresher content. The free Content Decay Analyzer compares two periods of page traffic and shows exactly which pages are fading, how fast, and how much the fade is costing you.

Paste one page per line with its traffic for this period and the previous one. The analyzer computes the percentage change per page, classifies it as growing, stable, decaying or critical, maps the distribution across your whole set, flags statistical outliers, and returns a fix-first list sorted by visits lost.

How to act on the results

  • Critical (down 40%+): rewrite, merge or redirect - small edits rarely save these.
  • Decaying (down 10-40%): refresh facts, deepen coverage, add internal links and re-promote.
  • Outliers: sudden moves in either direction deserve a manual look before you generalize.

Decay is normal; ignoring it is not. Run this check every quarter and your back catalogue keeps earning instead of quietly expiring.
